Using a TLD Suffix in a Domain Name

If the “.com” is unavailable for a new domain name, does something like “.agency”  or other similar example work ok in a TLD?

Answer:
From an SEO standpoint using the (in this example) .agency extension does not hurt you at all as a part of your TLD suffix domain… Utilizing pertinent SEO applications will also apply to any such SERP resultants.
